My journey to Counselling
My interest in mental wellbeing and personal development started early on in my teenage years and it has been growing ever since. I experienced multiple bouts of intense depression which began around the age of 13 years old and continued on until I was in my early twenties. Throughout these years, I became suicidal, I felt lost, confused, and alone, and I wasn’t sure how I would get out of this position.
Eventually I began to understand that things would not change unless I caused them to and that happiness was not some random accident but rather an outcome that could be achieved through intentional action. I stopped letting my pain and suffering define me and chose to believe that I could change if I truly wanted to. This marked the beginning of my healing journey and the beginning of my commitment to self-acceptance and personal growth.
After seeing positive changes while working on myself and learning on my own, I was inspired to gain more knowledge and develop skills that could one day be used to kickstart my career. I went on to study Psychology at Victoria University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2019. This qualification allowed me to get out of retail work, and I landed my first “office job” as a Social Worker for the Victorian Government.
I moved to a community-based organisation in 2022 to work more specifically in the area of family violence support. I completed further studies while in this role to become a specialist practitioner and in 2023 I graduated from Swinburne University having completed a Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management.
This qualification gave me additional skills and knowledge in the area of creating and implementing case management support plans for clients with various overlapping needs. I was also fortunate enough to be involved in observing and co-facilitating a Men’s Behaviour Change Program which gave me further experience in running in-person group programs.
However, I still had a lifelong goal which was yet to be fulfilled, and that was being able to work for myself, in my own business, supporting people in a way that aligned with my soul. Counselling was always there for me in the background as a strong interest, but I had never found a course or program that truly felt right.
In early 2024 I discovered The Australian School of Holistic Counselling, and their courses instantly grabbed my attention. Intuitively I knew I had found what I was looking for. After 18 months of learning and training, I finished up my studies in November of 2025 and became a certified professional Holistic Counsellor, Coach and Meditation & Mindfulness practitioner.
Every Day Alchemy is the manifestation of a dream that I have held since I was a boy and brings together my greatest passions in life. Authentically supporting people to transform their inner world and release themselves from the emotional burdens that once held them down.
